Beginning of Autumn

Summer didn't last long this year, and autumn has already entered into the Southern Hemisphere. Autumn is a season of harvest. Servants of God, lets all reap generously!! (2 Cor 9:6)

"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." (Matt 9:37-38)

Kathy and I were at One Tree Hill

It's a lazy Saturday morning again. But today is a bit special. I went with Kathy to One Tree Hill for a walk and some photo taking. It's wonderful to have this kind of causal moment with her. Sweet and wonderful (although Wei always says I am the unlucky guy)...

Oh guess what? I have realized my photography skills have improved a little bit. Recently I have been paying more attentions on photo compositions and using the just-about-right lighting, two of the most important contributing factors to any good photo. I am more keen to take photos from more creative angles, but I still need to read more magazines, see how other professional masterpieces look like and try to learn from them.

Below is one of my favourite shots of Kathy. It I wasn't using this entry level lens, the origional photo's lighting would have looked just perfect. Indeed it was perfect but there was some minor yellowish colour. After adjusting on photoshop, this is how the final looks like:

It's all about choices

Isn't this blog title familar to you? Yes, it is to me. There is a chinese saying "一子错,满盘皆落朔." It means if you made one mistake in your move, it might lead to the ruin of the entire game. This is a very cool philosophy and true in our everyday life. While God forgives mistakes (or sins), it is important to know, however, some poor choices are costing too much to make. The choices you made yesterday determines where you are today; and the choices you made today determines where you will be tomorrow. Hmm...this sounds so familar. = )

Should I choose this less saturated photo?

Or should I go for the more saturated one?

I am afraid life is more than this.

【Gold, an Accidental Reward】

This kind of sunset I have seen a lot in NZ.
But very seldom, I could manage to capture a GOLDEN tone like this (with a wrong ISO setting).
To my surprise, the result was excellent!
An accident has lead to an unexpected reward, my unexpected joy.

Remember the sky
Remember the colour
Remember the air
And the things all around us

Farewell, my friend.

Dedicate this photo to a friend who has recently left NZ.

Wave

Why was it so depressing? The dream, the conversation, the music, the msg...

A friend of my wrote something like this on MSN Space:

“留学生的生活由搬家,学费和签证组成;

他们四海为家,却没有家;

他们漂泊中求安定,安定中怀念漂泊;

他们重意气,因为他们相信缘分;

他们有时很冷漠,也许他们早已习惯离别。”

“留学生本身就是一个矛盾综合体.

在这个瞬息万变的世界里, 努力去寻找一个平衡点。”

想法多了,却无处开口。

When it comes, I won't run away.
Cos I'm the wave.

Sky Tower -- my 2nd visit

Harbour View

Althought I don't sense much change in Auckland by looking at the streets, it doesn't not eliminate the fact that many quality office buildings have been erected by developers and construction companies in the fast few years.

Youth

Visitors here include both youngers and seniors. Whether they are 16, 17 or 60, 70, they both enjoyed the cityscape in the Sky Tower.

Vertical Limit
Taking the lift to travel up the tallest building in the southern semisphere would only take seconds. Looked through the transparent glass inside the lift, I was trying to imagine the experience of free falling all the way to the bottom.

Adventurous

Occasionally, there are people who'd like to try out the thrill by patronizing the Sky Jump. Life is full of risks and uncertainty, if we keep trying we could explore the world and exploit great things in this adventure.

Him

He's Wei Hong. If it was not him, I would not have ended being on top of the Sky Tower twice.

Good Night. Good Bye.

Sometimes,
something somewhere in my mind,
I want to write,
but my bed would deny.
It doesn't allow me to be so inspired.

So I turned off the light,
thinking...
"Never mind."
"Tomorrow will be fine."
"Life has so many hightlights."
"Good Night. Good Bye."

Escape to Orewa

Last Saturday CCM escaped to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and stunning view of Orewa. It was exciting and fun, but way too short. For more photos please visit my Flickr online photo album at http://www.flickr.com/photos/eyeport/show/.

A Little More Light, GROUPE F, AK07

What a long day today! I got up at 8:30 in the morning for Orewa. Then we went for worship practice, followed by firework. Although we were a bit late (by the time we got there it has already started), I was still glad that we were able to see the most amazing firework in my life! This spectacular show "A little more light" was presented by GROUPE F from France. They are well-known throughout the whole. It's top of the class! Thanks to Angela who dropped us there! The entire Auckland Domain was packed amd after the show finished the traffics were all jammed. It was...WOW! Here are the pictures of the firework tonight and Orewa photos are yet to be uploaded.

In the afternoon, black and white

......
when the wind has gone cold
passion is on hold
how could fire melt the winter snow?
......
when there's hole in my side
i am fallen behind
who will lighten my darkest sky?
......
He, she or I?
deep, wide or high?
......
each watch carries a different time
each colour represents only black and white

黄昏の齿轮

When the nightfall arrives, standing from where I was just now, you will be amazed by the beautiful scenery. To me twilight is the most beautiful time of the day. It exhibits beautiful glory. Flourish, although it only last for a short while. Then the sun will hide behind the horizon, leaving us the crimson sky. Upon all my pending requests, I wish I could receive the key to the twilight, experiencing the eternal beauty.

Lantern Festival

So so so, the annual latern festival finally arrived on Friday. So after worship practice on Saturday afternoon we eventually got to join the crowd! Just as how it was like when I have been there about two years ago, it was really crowded. We were hardly moving inside such a fish tank! All we saw there were people, kids, food and more people etc. This year I also went to my favourit Riddle tent. But sadly I couldn't guess any outright to win prices until I came back home I realised I may have known at least one of them. Again it was not enough time as well. I really would stay there as the night goes on. Haha!

We also met Steph and Lynette who were voluntarily helping at the Lost Child tent. Steph certainly didn't know what to do when a lost child started to cry. I looked at her and Ishe stared at me with a blank face. It was funny. Lynette who was reponsible for talking to mandarin speakers but sometimes had trouble remembering her chinese words. After seeing how they were busy helping the people I really want to say the two of you are such awesome girls! I believe this is more than just simply making your CV look good. It's really a kind of inspirational stuff to do. From such we can enrich our social experience as well as many other skills. Yeah, this is something which youth should do more.

Welcome

Welcome my visitors! Please don't forget to comment before you leave here. I love feedbacks...= )
