Life is full of Investments
When I am excited, I tend to blog more. It looks like I am about to realize some capital gain on my lens, giving me a gross financial return for approximately 28.5% in just about half a year, not to mention the enjoyment I gain from it during this period.
When doing investment, how well you exit plays an important role. In my case, I was investing in my little lens. : )
Recently I have been doing some project marketing stuff. Obviously, one of the important things would be photographs which I am super passionate about. Here are my attempts to produce "wideeeee" photos.

Japan Day 2007!
Today was quite a productive Sunday because I see the so many things that I have done.
Shepherding with sheep Colin
Because I recently have been busy with backup singing and also I have to spend time with Shingo at the same time, today I finally resumed shepherding with Colin. It was good!
Word for Life
WFL has been interesting in the recent weeks also. We got to go out and do "real things"-Action For Life! We have been to the Airport, hospital...what's next in Angela's class? Haha! It was my first time been to the Auckland Hospital by the way! Hope the patient will recover fully ASAP.
Japan Day
Highlight of the day is the annual Japan Day held in ASB Stadium.
You get to taste yummy food...
You get to see Southern Stars' performances...
You get to join them personally...
And fully indulge in their strong culture. Japanese people are very fun and full of passion, even Kathy cannot stand the itchiness of not to dance! And then 11 of us went to pre-celebrate the 2 Kevins' birthdays!

Auckland Museum Shots
I have been hoping to go to take some photos at Auckland Domain. And today finally I made this happen. Unfortunately when I got there the sun has almost set completely therefore I didn't capture much colour. Well here they are.
I eventually got to test my recently purchased ND Grad filter!
Tomorrow morning I will take some city views as part of the project marketing materials. Hopefully it will be good weather.

Schmap: Auckland Photo Short-list
Hi Felix,
I am writing to let you know that one of your photos has been short-listed for inclusion in the fourth edition of our Schmap Auckland Guide, to be published early November 2007.
www.schmap.com/shortlist/p=26934259N00/c=SF51012673
Clicking this link will take you to a page where you can:
i) See which of your photos has been short-listed.
ii) Submit or withdraw your photo from our final selection phase.
iii) Learn how we credit photos in our Schmap Guides.
iv) Browse online or download the second edition of our Schmap Auckland Guide.
While we offer no payment for publication, many photographers are pleased to submit their photos, as Schmap Guides give their work recognition and wide exposure, and are free of charge to readers. Photos are published at a maximum width of 150 pixels, are clearly attributed, and link to high-resolution originals at Flickr.
Our submission deadline is Monday, November 5. If you happen to be reading this message after this date, please still click on the link above (our Schmap Guides are updated frequently - photos submitted after this deadline will be considered for later releases).
Best regards,
Emma Williams,
Managing Editor, Schmap Guides
---------------------------------------------
So exciting to hear this news although it passed the submission deadline. LOL. It was the photo of the golden harbour bridge!
By Kathy's name I participated this year's My Auckland Photo Competition.
"We're looking for photos that capture the mood and essence of Auckland, images that say something about the photographer's personal experience of the city. We're not expecting professional quality - the spirit and imagination with which the shot is taken is far more important. At the end of the day, Aucklanders will pick their favourite." - Matthew Williams, photographer and My Auckland judge
"A picture tells a thousand words"...but what kind of words? Due to the complexity of our human brain a picture may tell completely two different stories for two different persons. So having one photo for submission only, I really struggled with what to present, especially when no short description is required.

E
I quite like the letter "E" because it has brought us so many cool words:
Element; Engineer; Evangelism; Everlasting; Extreme; Explosion; Edition; Excellent; Emmanual; Excitement; Equation; Empire; Exodus; and of course Eyeport.
I am on sick leave today. Haha, I can see how God has answered people's prayers. ^_^

Resident Evil?
Road Closed? What's going on there? Bio Harzard?
Urhh? The Undead? The Dead Walk?? ...
Oh no! It is Indian Festival!!!
Because of this Indian Festival over the weekend, people could hardly find a carpark shopping at Foodtown in the city. Emily was one of the victims...hehe.

Show some samples of Nikkor 12-24mm
This blog has seriously been lack of updates nowadays, not because of too busy for work or anything in particular, but when your time has been consumed by a little bit of everything you do find yourself into situations where you don't have enough free time to do some "regular maintenance".
I love my recently purchased ultra-wide angle lens, my first pro lens!!! It's now attached to my camera 99.9% of time! Therefore I do have some photos to inject to my blog.
First up...
Empire...I took this shot after we finished the body corp meeting Friday afternoon. Believe it or not, I would say this is one of the best angles of the building. Added little green tone to give a more modern look.
2nd one...
Art Gallery near Albert Park. I took it after work, on my way to caregroup. The photo is corpped in Photoshop CS to eliminate some undesirable objection than tend to distract. Then it was darken using gradient tool to show more details of the sky and hence adds more atmosphere.

Define Stalking
Stalking refers to repeated harassing or threatening behavior by an individual, such as following a person, appearing at a person's home or place of business, making harassing phone calls, leaving written messages or objects, or vandalizing a person's property...
Winnie you'd better stop leaving messages on my blog or stop dialing your darn long distant calls, or else you watch...this is my final warning. I don't get too patient with this.

Back from the Bay of Islands
So in the end, we didn't go to hot spring at Rotorura. Instead, we went to the Bay of Islands. We just came back last night. I can't wait to release my new photo album. It's got a very nice name too. ^0^

Man...It's good!
Every since I started working, I've been writing how stressful it is at my work place. But strangely I notice there has been some changes in the work environment...Don't know what's the cause, but it is definitely a good thing. Being able to sit down at Aotea Sq and enjoy the lovely sun in the afternoon tells how relaxed I am today. = )

Hello, no update for a long time again! I don't have much to update for now apart from what it says on the title. Hehe. Ok...I have added one photo as well. Not hugely satisfied...I want to take photos...the other time at work I printed out many photos of mine and created an EYEPORT PHOTO album...It was good! ^____^

The outbreak of virus and the out blowing Nikon D3!
I have been doing such a bad job in updating my blog. Hardly have I had times like this - sitting in the office after hrs and surfing on a super fast net. The only reason I would want to go leave right now is I am getting hungry!
Yesterday and today Jessy and Tim have been sending me some random messages and files on MSN. Knowing that it is virus, out of my curiosity/mind that I still proceed opening the file. So I scanned the file and nothing was detected. Then I clicked to open it but nothing appeared. And then later on I realise my MSN started doing its job! Within a second, It sent out random messages and files just as what my friends did to me before. I am still in the office because I am scanning the virus!!! It reminds me a sentence someone told me, people sin only if sin is fun! Now I can 100% relate to that...haha....Till almost 9pm 4 of us are still in the office, and Jonathan is coming back! We just ordered PIZZA!
Tomorrow a new staff will be added to our head office - our new financial controller/supervisor. Our team is getting bigger and bigger! Also, tonight there is the launch of the Property Buddy Programme. Gary, our boss, will be taking two students and mentor them. So our head office is gonna look extra busy, messy and crazy!
A very exciting news which can blow many people away has jsut been announced today. Just few days after the release of Canon 1D Mark III and 40D, Nikon, after many years of battling against it's main competitor Canon, has finally decided to satisfy their loyal fans with a 12MP full frame DSLR - Nikon D3, a beautifully tailored for high end professional photographers. 25600 ISO can just blow everyone away (purely based on specs at the moment)! However, the value is still subject to performance. In addition, D300, along with 5 profession super quality lens were also announced! It's really going to be a revolution! It makes me start dreaming about holding a D3 and a couple of pro lens on my hand...(why are they so dear??? ...ToT)

Mid-Winter Xmas
Tomorrow is MWX and I have yet to produce the video presentation. I have been doing some researches over the last few days but it seems nothing impressive came to my mind in terms of the ideas and creativities. The deadline is tomorrow and hopefully things will work out as usual. A lot of presure...Yes, salvation is near! But save me first...ahhh!! With 120 registration, it is going to be a big event! Just pray that it will become a memorable highlight of the year 2007.
My boss is going to be away for a week or so, so the string can be released for a short while...I will need to make good use of it.
Yesterday visited APPLE's website. I saw the newly released all-in-one slim Mac. It looks more greyish or silver if you like but it looses it's classic white colour - the image of purity. Comparing with Acer or Hp, Apple are generally more expensive. However it gives you the sense of quality assurance and sophisticated design which none in the market could compare. I am still looking forward to purchasing the Mac Pro but there is a price to pay for this trendy but powerful gadget.

Empire
Sorry for the lack of updates recently. Obviously, I have been incredibly busy with work. But that's alright, I am trying to adapt to it.
I have moved to Empire with Pang and Vincent (new flatmate from HK). And we got a new friend from HK named Chris. It's nice to have people live so near to each other. So in this zone we have Chris, Felix, KP, Vincent, Amy, Peggy, Nicky, KFC and Bernand! And Mic lives not far away too. Sounds good!!
By the way, CCM now could use Columbia's satellite TV lounge for dinner fellowship. It's good!
At work it's just busy busy busy. Nothing else I want to comment at the moment. I'd better keep a work diary myself so not to forget what I have done and learnt. Yes, I should probably make the most out of it.
I started this blog entry this morning now I am finishing it off almost at 6pm. Ok, off and go. Oh, Kathy's birthday went past recently. I haven't bought her any present yet. No, I shouldn't forget. : )

After Camp
It's Thursday. Thursday is always full of meetings so I am the only person guarding the office again.
We just came back from the Camp at Hunua Fall. The camp site was wet and muddy so we could not have any outdoor activities at all. However, the weather did not affect the Praise and Worship and the sermons. Instead, it saved us move energy for the services alone. I didn't take many photos at this year's camp not because I didn't bring my camera, but because I left the battery at home charing. I am seldom so careless like this. Hehe. By the way, everyone was waiting for me on the bus because I couldn't finish work early enough. And then we all stuck in the traffic for quite a while so by the time we arrive camp it was quite late. Well...fair enough.
We finally got to meet Pastor PN, the president of Hope of God International. He seems a little shy, but when he preaches he becomes a different person. He likes to inspire, encourage and tell people to think positive. He mentioned to me their "Impact Ministry", which effectively is our multimedia ministry. I'd also like to see EYEPORT to become the point of influence in the society. Yesterday at the chinese service, Pastor Feng Bing Cheng said the the complex human eyes are the reflects God's mighty creation. It makes EYEPORT cooler, doesn't it?
I started getting a bit sick after the camp so this morning I went to the Sauna downstairs to steam myself up as suggested by Ty as a way to kill diseases. I don't know if it works but it was certainly comfortable in there. I heard Kathy's mum is going to cook me congee. I am so loved. : )

Some space
It feels like it has been a long time since my last entry. And it’s strange, because I currently don’t have internet access here so I am saving everything in a word document. It feels like I have been working for a while, although I have almost been doing different things everyday. I generally don’t like Thursday because of the PCG meeting at 9am in the morning. I have to be so disciplined to show up at MPM’s office at 9am sharp. Then turn on my laptop and try to type as fast as I possibly can to record something which I don’t understand yet. But worst of all, I had to listen to the tape and fill out the parts that I missed out at the meeting. It usually takes hours and hours long. This is the 3rd PCG meeting I attend and I have done a much better job than I did last week. The minute also was sent out before I left the office. I am glad.
I am someone who’s always up to the challenge. If the bar is higher then I have to try harder to jump. At work, I am surrounded by a highly intense working environment. Pressure, speed, focus and coping with different types of people, friendly, the unfriendly, patient, the impatient, diligent, and the lazy ones. It’s very difficult to balance everything. But I always thank God for always bring me to a new stage in life. I think I am a very adaptable person. If God made light out of darkness, I believe I can spark in the night as well. I almost think that I can survive in any environment. And I thank God for giving me such confidence to even think that I can. Since I am busy everyday, I cherish my spare time even more. I am completely out of my time even for a short moment like this, being able to sit down and have a short reflection of the week, becomes so precious to me.
I am sitting at the window seat near the door on Level 2 at Wendy’s. I can clearly see the ASB tower and the Skytower from here. I can’t remember when was the last time I said I would not come to Wendy’s again because of the food. So today I make a same mistake. The food here tastes so bad now. I think I will try not to come here again next time.
Gali has gone back to Singapore. Of course we miss him. From his email I see he’s having a good start now. And I think he will enjoy himself more and more there.
Caregroup wise, I am sort of floating around between CCM and YA and finding it hard to settle. The feeling of having to leave one group early and rush to the other wasn’t that good. I wonder why Crystal would like doing that. But the busier I get the more I enjoy the fellowship or even just catching up with a few friends. Good news is, I have gained approval of leaving early Friday next week for the church camp. As in the future, I will try to do an even better job to “win” what I deserve.
My English is so plain, but I enjoy using it because it causes my ideas to flow. It’s a very good thing I suppose.
Ok, I think it’s a good time to go home now. Bye.

The beginning and the end
I am at the head office right now. Everyone is having a meeting except me. I don't know what to do! I took this job yeterday so today it's my first day at work. I arrived at the office at 9am but didn't get any work to do until 11am. ToT...Then we headed towards the Empire apartment to have Forcefield Access Controll meeting. I was told by TY even though we are in the city still need a car! TY who is driving a flash BMW is the current project manager. He's very well spoken and on the phone all the time! Unfortunately he's only gonna be here to train me up till end of this month and he will hand his work over to me and help me if I need him. So we arrived at Empire but many attendees didnot arrive until nearly 1pm! My job today is to take minutes, word by word. However, it doesn't take me a minute to lost what I am typing because I have no understand and background what they are talking about. Haha. Glad that we have Ray and Harry who have recorders and help take notes as well, so when we came back to the office I could listen to the tape again and again to write down whatever they have said. Whew...
Whewwww...((((TIME LINE))))....................
Just when I though I didn't have much to do in the afternoon at around 5pm. I was told to take notes again. And then...and then...and then...it was already 8:35pm!!! In the end I collected a pile of papers to bring home for study! Just as what my boss John told me, "You are now doing a Master degree in Property." Really really, it has speeded up my life soooo much in just Day#1. I want to catch up as soon as I can so that I don't need to get lost in the meeting and want to be really confident in what I will be doing. Yeah, so it's very very exciting. I need strength!
Btw, we also don't have specific lunch time. So we need to grape whatever to eat whenever we have some spare time. This is the game! And and btw, guess what? I drove a BMW by myself for the first time driving alone......so satisfied. :)
So today's title: "the beginning of my busyness, and the end of my free time".

Hope Auckland's 10th Anniversary
The past week has been really full and challenging. Ps Brendan from Australia came to Auckland and ran two healing nights, then followed by our 10th church anniversary. I too was very occupied in helping out at the healing nights and preparing a video clip for this 10th anniversary. I got home at about 11pm After the 2nd healing night on Saturday. Then I had to run through many video tapes, upload them to my laptop, edit, select photos, any put everything together into a smooth video. That was the most satisfying experience! Haha. But honestly, I felt very touched when I reviewed so many church events happened in the past. And I felt very pity when I saw so many people have left for different reasons. But I felt very encouraged to see how much people who are still in the church have grown.
I am very blessed.

Kathy's Graduation
Yes, it was Kathy's graduation, one of the glorious moments in her life. I was busy all day taking photos (no kidding!), just don't wanna miss a shot of that angel-like smile (^@^)))))~...
Again, I've uploaded some of her photos to Kathy's Graduation (click to view slideshow) on FLICKR. Only some of them because it takes a long time to edit those photos and there in fact are too many photos! I will upload some more later on. :)
By the way, few of us from skykiwi have voluntarily formed a group running a "Photo4U" "business". So we took photos for whoever agreed to be taken on their graduation day and then sell our photos! So far I've sold one. Haha. Just realized how expensive it costs to hire a photographer for an hour! Over $160!! WOW.

Photos! Our graduation!
Tomorrow is Kathy's graduation. Finally I realize how I felt others were more excited than me on my graduation day. Because I am now all excited for tomorrow. ^_^
I had some reflections for the past three years. Friends there really mean a lot to me. They have certainly made my uni life less boring. You are not me so you don't know how cool my friends are and how important they are. By saying they have made my ordinary everyday uni life less boring, they really did! :P
I had dinner with Mr. Lu and few other friends. He's been in NZ for over 8yrs and he told us he had to make new friends almost every 2-3yrs because most people don't stay here for long. People that he knew since 1999 are hardly in NZ anymore. I guess being such a person witnesses a few "generations" of friends is really hard I guess.
What about me? A lot of people I knew since college are hardly here as well. Where are they? What are they doing now? And my dear fellow graduates, where will you be going? Friends, how are you?
Tomorrow's weather better be awesome. :)
