A 'new Earth' 20.5 light years away
AN EARTH-LIKE planet which could be covered in rivers, lakes and oceans and may support life has been discovered outside the solar system.
The new world, 20.5 light years away, orbits a region with the right temperature to allow liquid water on its surface.
Scientists believe it is only one-and-a-half times larger and five times more massive than Earth, making it the smallest known extra-solar planet.
Given its size and location, it is likely to have an atmosphere. Scientists have also calculated the planet has about double the Earth's gravity. Any creatures living there would, be twice as heavy as they would be on Earth.
=========================
Speed of light: 300,000kps approx.
Time convertion:
60sec * 60min * 24hr * 365day = 31,536,000 sec per yr approx.
Distance between planetX and earth:
300,000kps*31,536,000 s/yr * 20.5yr = 193,946,400,000,000km approx.
close to 19.4 trillion kilometers!!!!!!!!
Max speed a spacecraft can travel (as for now): 25000mph = 40,225kph approx.
Time it takes to travel:
193,946,400,000,000km / 40,225kph = 4,821,538,844 hrs
4,821,538,844 hrs = 200,897,452 days = 550,404 yrs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hypothetically, we have unlimited supply of energy during our travel. A female would give birth at her 30s in the spacecraft. Then,
550,404 yrs / 30 = 18,347 generations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We need to have 18,347 gens in order to keep the life going!!!
Given the morden technology in the world and the distance it is away from the earth, this planet is out of human's reach. We can't travel fast enough and we don't have enough fuel. Even we could make this happen, by the time we get there the plannet might have been doomed. It could be destoryed by collisions with other asteroids. How amazing our earth is still surviving today and the sun is still functioning!
When can the dream of travelling at the speed of light come true? Even if we suceed, it still takes 20.5yrs to get there! In another word, if the movement of plannets and asteroids are not stable, this earth-like plannet we observed today might not even exist at all!!

Spam from Vodafone?
It's been a mad two days. My phone has been extremely wrong recently. I did not receive a single txt msg in the last two days but just now all the sudden over 180 msg attacked my inbox! It's crazy!!! Shingo, being the main hacker contributed over 132 of them (by he's guess), but I think at least 150 were sent by him! What a "Mad-sheep Boy"! Well, it is all vodafone's fault after all. And fortunately enough I was the only one amoung you guys who had this problem. Vodafone should get all the blames.
My interview for this graduate position is at 10am on the coming Tuesday. So exciting! I managed to arrange a meeting with Steven who has been working for the company for over a year and heard so much information about this job I am applying. Also, today I went for the interview practice at the career center at uni. It was very helpful. I could imagine how much more I could improve after receiving many feedbacks from the career consultant. Will be doing some extensive preparations over this weekend. Although there are still some problem there but I pray everything will go well. Bro Charles prayed for me yesterday at prayer meeting. "Although sometimes things seem impossible in our human eyes, everything is possible in God's eyes."
Tomorrow G180 will have their own party, and they will split to have their individual caregroup. What's going to happen to CCM? Will the youth group manage to survive? Will the uni group grow well? So much to look forward to!
Oh yes, graduation is coming soon! I still need to hire the gowns. Will I get my passport back soon? Can mum and aunt come over to visit? And don't forget the driving lesson. Hmm...expect to drive on my own after one lesson. HaHa.

Hello Mr. Anon!
Good afternoon Mr. Anonymous! I like to call you a male even though it may not be the case. LOL... To my surprise, you visit my blog again. You must be very bored! LOL.
Why not just reveal your real name? Maybe you think I don't know who you are? If you'd still like to post rubbish again, you will soon be screened. It doesn't botther me really. It's sad that there won't be another blog to entertain you. LOLLLL.
If you are really bored, you can buy a plane ticket from Singapore...lol
I love this photo, as well as the satellite image it shows. It can be zoomed. Using Google Earth can see an even clearer picture. Wow, modern technology! How could the hackers run away from the eye of police? Its not really anonymous nowadays Mr. Anonymous. Hope you understand that. LOL.

To Mr. Anonymous
How pathetic! I feel sorry for you. I do not care who you are and where you come from. But if you are trying to make yourself a pollutant here then I suggest you to leave. Going back to your class may make your day less miserable. If you are trying to speak bad about Sarah then you have also become my enenmy. If you wanna shoot, your options are either buying a good camera if you ever understand how to use it, or playing Counter Strike online. I am sure you will enjoy shooting each other and it will make your day!

Much passion from a little hobbie.
I just came back from Taupo a few days ago. The trip was well-organized by many photography fans on skykiwi. It was absolutely a wonderful experience.
We departed in the morning, stayed at Taupo overnight and came back in the next evening. In this trip we all had a clear purpose - nothing else but to take photos! In the morning we got up before 4am and prepare to make our move to the National Park (where I had my first skiing last year). Thus, we reached the mountain at 5:45am, before the sunrise. Our GPS detected the temperature was only 2 degree there. We could even see snow on the mountain! And I was only wearing three thin layers! Can you imagine how frozen I was? Into the bone!!
Knowing the main purpose for this photo trip, on Good Friday afternoon, we headed to our first destination -- the restaurant! Because Taupo is a place famous for its big prawns so we went all the way there to satisfy our prawn desire. Personally, I am not a fan of good food as I don't live my life for food therefore it wasn't a big deal for me. Besides, it dissatisfy my bank account a lot considering 1.75kg prawns cost $155! But since everyone was going I could not become antisocial there. Hehe. Much satisfaction indeed. : P
Not only the food was good, the photo taking experience was great. Besides taking photos of the clouds, mountains, trees, flowers and lake etc, we all had the privilege to take photos of the models. Not my type of passion but it was my first actual portrait experience. The two models tried their best to cooperate with photographers in order to bring out the best results. And they had never complained about their tiredness and expressed any impatience. They have been very cooperative throughout the whole time.
Being my first time having such an opportunity to be exposed to many wonderful sceneries and photographers, I truely gained so much from others, on both knowledge and skills. I will be very likely to participate in their next event. : )

New breath
Recently I have been troubled enough by the NZIS. Honestly, I feel very fructurated especially when the trouble comes like a chain, one on top of another and one after another. When I am going through the troubles I have realised one scary thing, that is, time -- the toughest thing to race against. When a portion of time suddently disappeared, hope starts to vanish, for my speed is certainly not enough.
Today I watched Ps Stephen Tang's sermon vcd. He said something like this. "Why should we be afraid? Before we die, death is not yet; after we died, death has gone passed." He's words are that smart.
On this Ester Good Friday, I will go to Taupo to allow myself to be refreshed. Hopefully, I can fix some of my thoughts. Breathe in the breath of life, prepare, and be ready.

In the Memory
The panda has gone
Yes, Sarah has gone to Canada for her six months OE. Is she coming back? I suppose she will. Hehe. All I can hope is that "everything will be okay". OE beyond doubt is definitely a wonderful thing to do. Certainly, everyone would agree. A journey that filled with new things, adventures and excitment. How much would you like to pay for these things?
What do we live for?
Stephen highlighted three main categories under the influence of early attitudes: 1) I live for happiness -- I pursue happiness with all my life. What's wrong with that? 2) I live for kindness -- I live as long as I show kindness and justice; 3) I don't believe -- typical criticism, I question everything except for myself. These three main categories widly exist today, in him, in you, in me and in us. As christians, should we also remind ourselves what do we really live for?
