Much passion from a little hobbie.
I just came back from Taupo a few days ago. The trip was well-organized by many photography fans on skykiwi. It was absolutely a wonderful experience.
We departed in the morning, stayed at Taupo overnight and came back in the next evening. In this trip we all had a clear purpose - nothing else but to take photos! In the morning we got up before 4am and prepare to make our move to the National Park (where I had my first skiing last year). Thus, we reached the mountain at 5:45am, before the sunrise. Our GPS detected the temperature was only 2 degree there. We could even see snow on the mountain! And I was only wearing three thin layers! Can you imagine how frozen I was? Into the bone!!
Knowing the main purpose for this photo trip, on Good Friday afternoon, we headed to our first destination -- the restaurant! Because Taupo is a place famous for its big prawns so we went all the way there to satisfy our prawn desire. Personally, I am not a fan of good food as I don't live my life for food therefore it wasn't a big deal for me. Besides, it dissatisfy my bank account a lot considering 1.75kg prawns cost $155! But since everyone was going I could not become antisocial there. Hehe. Much satisfaction indeed. : P
Not only the food was good, the photo taking experience was great. Besides taking photos of the clouds, mountains, trees, flowers and lake etc, we all had the privilege to take photos of the models. Not my type of passion but it was my first actual portrait experience. The two models tried their best to cooperate with photographers in order to bring out the best results. And they had never complained about their tiredness and expressed any impatience. They have been very cooperative throughout the whole time.
Being my first time having such an opportunity to be exposed to many wonderful sceneries and photographers, I truely gained so much from others, on both knowledge and skills. I will be very likely to participate in their next event. : )
